“No Fim Era o Frio,” the new album by the band Mão Morta from Braga, is set to be released on September 27, 2019, with a celebration scheduled for October 11 at LAV in Lisbon.
This album presents itself as a dystopian narrative where concepts such as global warming or rising sea levels serve as the backdrop for questioning and deconstructing different paradigms of daily life. These are paradigms that surround us and with which we interact and replicate, reframed in a context where familiarity gains the strangeness that allows for its perception.
But this is a demented perception, in a fictional horizon where we never know if it is real or delusional. The compositions created give new life and interpretation to the cosmological coldness and human loneliness—here echoes of the same existential maladaptation and emotional emptiness.
Live, Mão Morta recreate this dystopia, turning the stage into a space for this quest for human warmth, with no other agenda than the hypnotic mantra woven by the music.
